Bikeshare continues its growth. New hubs to be introduced in 2025.
The Unified Government (UG) bikeshare program, in partnership with RideKC Bike, once again achieved double digit growth in 2024. Utilization of the electric bikes (e-bikes) increased by 12% in 2024.
There was also a significant rate of cross traffic, with KCK bikes traveling to other local municipalities, such as Westwood, as well as neighborhoods throughout Kansas City, Missouri. KCK bikes have one of the highest trips per bike rates in the region, second only to Kansas City, Missouri. The UG has studied usage across Kansas City, Kansas with our partners at BikeWalkKC and will redeploy new bike hubs and docking locations to optimize access in Wyandotte County.

RFQ N41223 Juvenile Corrections Advisory Board Funding
The Unified Government has issued a request for qualifications for Juvenile Corrections Advisory Board (JCAB) Funding. Responses are due Thursday, February 6 before 12PM CST.
The Juvenile Corrections Advisory Board grant allows for regional or county Juvenile Corrections Advisory Boards to collaborate with community agencies and submit an application that is inclusive of the community partners the board has agreed to fund. Throughout the community partner selection process, priority considerations for these funds should be given to communities with high levels of out-of-home justice-involved youth per capita and where community-based alternatives are lacking.
