Volunteer Opportunity! Sound the Alarm |
|
The Kansas City, Kansas Fire Department (KCKFD), in collaboration with the American Red Cross and Bethel Neighborhood Center, are excited to announce the third iteration of “Sound the Alarm” on Saturday, October 12, 2024, from 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM in the St. Margaret’s Park Neighborhood.
This bi-annual event is dedicated to enhancing fire safety, awareness, and preparedness in local communities. Since the kick-off in October 2023, over 250 smoke alarms have been installed in KCK.
This Fall 2024 event will mobilize volunteers to canvass the St. Margaret’s Neighborhood with educational information and install smoke alarms in homes where needed. At the end of the challenge, prizes will be awarded for categories like most green commute trips completed on both the individual and team levels. (This year’s individual grand prize is an e-bike!).
