Stevie Williams Honored with the Inaugural Vanguard Award
A huge congratulations goes out to Stevie Williams, Community Engagement and Affairs Advisor to Mayor Garner as he was honored with the "Brother's Keeper" Inaugural Vanguard Award.
The Vanguard Awards mission is to honor individuals who have transcended the limitations of their communities, achieved global success while remained rooted in their humble origins and giving back without seeking recognition. Despite their significant contributions, they often go unnoticed within their own communities. Their aim is to shift perceptions and celebrate those who tirelessly dedicate themselves to their community's well-being.
Congratulations Stevie, Keep Up the Impactful Work!

Kindness Continues
In April during our Seven Days of Kindness, the Mayor’s staff continued the tradition set last year of selling candy grams to UG employees with inspirational notes of thanks for their fellow UG team members. Thank you to the UG staff for all their support.
Seven Days of Kindness was an opportunity to kick off and continue kindness moving forward throughout the year.
As an opportunity to continue to create ripples of kindness at the May 30th Commission meeting Mayor Garner presented a celebratory check of $410 to the Wyandotte County Parks Foundation.
