Wyandotte County Lake Park Temporarily Closed Until Further Notice Due to Extreme Storm Damage
KANSAS CITY, KS - Please be advised that Wyandotte County Lake Park, located at Leavenworth Road and 91st Street, KCK, KS, is temporarily closed until further notice. This closure is due to severe storm damage that occurred on Sunday, May 19. The overnight storm caused extensive damage, including fallen trees, power lines and significant damage to some of the docks.
The safety of the community is our top priority, and it is important that we take the necessary steps to ensure no harm comes to anyone at Wyandotte County Lake Park. Unified Government staff are actively assessing the damage and developing a plan for repairs and restoration.
We will provide progress updates and will notify the public once Wyandotte County Lake Park is safe to use again.

Residents have several options for responsibly disposing of branches, shrubs, stumps, and other yard waste.
Kansas City, Kansas, residents can place debris curbside on their normal trash day. Leaves and grass clippings must be bagged and not more than 50 pounds per bag. Tree limbs must be tied in bundles not more than four feet long and less than 50 pounds. Limbs must be 4 inches or less in diameter.
