Hello!
Winter has arrived! Note that our offices are closed today due to road conditions and the safety of our employees and community. Residential trash/recycling will be delayed by one day as well. Please check our website for the latest updates.
In the meantime, keep reading for the latest - including a really cool opportunity to tour our brand-new Fire Station #16 this Saturday. Finally, while our offices are closed on Monday in observance of MLK Day, KCK residents, please remember that trash and recycling is on its regular schedule next week.

With January really starting to feel like winter, we wanted to remind you that there are warming centers available during the day across Wyandotte County in addition to the KCK Cold Weather Shelter for those nights when the temperature drops below 25 degrees.
BPU also has information about the Low-Income Energy Assistance Program which opened for applications last month. This helps eligible households pay for a portion of their home energy costs. Learn more.
This week we will continue to update our website, Facebook, and Nextdoor pages with information about winter weather, impacts to services, and any other announcements. In the meantime, stay safe, Wyandotte!

Snow Operations: Tips and Tricks
With the winter weather in the forecast this week, we remind you of several tips from our Public Works Department in the event of snowfall.
- Don't park on the street whenever possible.
- Shovel the snow to the right of your driveway - this will help avoid some of the issues of snow blocking your drive when the snowplow passes.
- Clear your sidewalks of snow. As property owner, it is your responsibility.
- To report snow or ice removal issues, please call 3-1-1 or visit mywyco.wycokck.org
More information on our snow operations can be found online or in this recent presentation to our UG Commission.
