Tax Rebate Season Starts TODAY
Today, the Unified Government has launched the 2023 Tax Rebate program through April 15, 2024. Eligibility criteria has been expanded and new rebates are now available for residents 65 years or older OR disabled with an annual income of $40,500 or less. We've created a list of documents you'll want to pull together on our website and encourage you to make an appointment at a location most convenient to you.

How to dispose of your Christmas tree?
Parks & Recreation has four tree disposal sites, open now until January 31. Drop off your Christmas trees at any of the following locations:
- Alvey Park (4850 Metropolitan Ave)
- Wyandotte County Park - near the ballfields (126th Street & State Avenue)
- Stony Point (531 N 86th Street)
- City Park (Park Drive & S. 26th Street)

The Real Estate & Property Tax Office opens today in a new office -- still on the Courthouse second floor but just down the hall, next door to the Delinquent Real Estate Office. Of course, you can pay your taxes online anytime here: mywyco.wycokck.org

The public is invited to join the Unified Government Human Resources Department and Kansas City, KS Fire Department for an open house on Saturday, January 13, 2024 from 11AM-1PM. This free event is an opportunity to see the station, talk to fire fighters and human resource staff about how to become a fire fighter, and even apply for an upcoming class.
6th Street Urban Trail and Complete Street RFP
The Unified Government Department of Public Works is soliciting proposals for professional engineering and surveying services for the 6th Street Urban Trail and Complete Street project. Proposals are due January 18.

The Program Coordinator requires a great attitude toward the Mission of the Public Works Department and the customers we work with and serve.
Duties include: supervising support staff; providing support where needed; working closely with the Human Resources and Public Works staff to develop or improve policies and practices, and to develop and implement employee programs (training, awareness, etc.); assisting the Executive Director with various correspondence and scheduling needs; coordinating program activities amongst divisions of Public Works, and with other departments, organizations and agencies; planning and creating new programs; evaluating programs and making necessary changes; developing policies and procedures; preparing related program reports; preparing for and giving presentations; conducting related studies and analyzing data; preparing and administering contracts; responding to inquiries and complaints.

Butter is a 2-year-old American Staffordshire Terrier mix - he may be exactly what you need to make life a little more delicious! Butter is 43 lbs of affection. He is very friendly and loves people. Butter's easy to walk. He's playful and would enjoy going on adventures, but he doesn't seem to be super high energy for a young guy. Butter is good with other dogs.
Our dogs have been spayed or neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, microchipped and tested for heartworms (if 7 months or older). Learn more about Butter.
