Join the UG Black History Committee
The Black History Committee (BHC) is a committee comprised of UG employees and community members who seek to educate and empower on cultural awareness and pride. Our mission is to inspire, respect, and celebrate African Americans' lifelong achievements, history and future in our community and beyond.
What we do: The BHC is a volunteer committee that hosts an annual banquet to honor African American achievements, provide educational scholarships to local educational institutions, and recognize minority-owned businesses in our community. The banquet is a fun-filled evening which typically features a keynote speaker and live entertainment.
Expectations: Volunteers are asked to participate in monthly virtual/in-person meetings during UG operational hours with the occasional after-hour participation. Volunteers help with the planning and preparing of the annual event. We recommend that you notify your supervisor of your interest to participate as well. If you have any questions, contact BHC@wycokck.org

Workday Features Coming!
The UG will be rolling out new Workday features very soon and this is a BIG DEAL for our organization as it impacts ALL UG employees.
Learn Management System
The new Learning Management System (LMS) will be live at the end of November; here’s what you should know…
- All UG employees will be able to sign up for trainings and access the job aids and other training materials in Workday.
- The job aids and November training calendar are still posted on the training and resources webpage at this time, but it will be taken down shortly after go-live. Training on the LMS system is available in November.
Payroll, Absence and Time Tracking
The Payroll, Absence and Time Tracking modules will be launched at the end of December in UG Workday. These modules are interconnected; here’s what you should know…
- All UG employees (except police & fire) will submit their Absence requests in Workday using the Absence App. In Workday, an ABSENCE is time away from work. This includes time off (such as vacation, sick, comp) and leaves of absence (paid or unpaid). Please note: KCKPD and KCKFD will use Telestaff.
- Designated department timekeepers will enter employee’s Time into Workday on a daily or weekly basis (depending on department size). In Workday terminology, TIME means the employee’s time worked “on the clock.”
- Managers will review and approve both Absence requests and Time entries.
-
Payroll is then generated from the Time and Absence entries.
- Starting with Pay Period 1 in 2024, all UG employees will access their paystubs and other payroll related tasks and documents in Workday
- Training & job aids for the Payroll, Absence and Time Tracking modules will be available in Workday in December & January.
Prior to the end of the year, all UG employees are encouraged to access Workday
