Hello!
October was a flurry of activities across Wyandotte County and November is looking pretty good too! We're sending out this email a little early this month with a few updates from Fleet, recycling best practices, last call for this week's DEI training, and a correction on the gingerbread house construction times (see below). We'll be back with the full all-staff email mid-month but wanted you to have these announcements as soon as possible.

Gingerbread House Competition |

 Mayor Tyrone Garner’s Gingerbread House Competition is back.
Here are the rules:
- All decorating must be done on site at Memorial Hall between the following times:
- Monday, November 13th noon – 5:00p.m.
- Tuesday, November 14th 9:00 a.m. – 5:00p.m.
- Wednesday, November 15th 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
- Thursday, November 16th 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.*
* Please note the corrected time.
- A member of Buildings & Logistics will have your kit ready at Memorial Hall on the above dates and times specified. You will be asked to sign up with your name and department. One kit per department.
- You ARE allowed to use additional candy/ items, beyond what is included in the kit.
- Your entire display must fit within the dimensions of the box provided (photos below). Display materials/decorations may not extend beyond the sides of the box structure. As high of a house as you build is acceptable.
- Have fun! Let your creativity fly!
Commissioners will be invited to join Mayor Garner to select the winners. Department winners will be announced by the end of Commission meeting, Thursday, November 16, 2023. Mayor Tyrone Garner will display all the Gingerbread Houses at the 2023 Mayor’s Christmas Tree Lighting Festival held on Friday, November 17th, 2023, 4pm-9pm.
