Its Beginning to Look a Lot Like… Affiliation and Email Address Changes
This time of year, licensees often change an active license to inactive status and remove the existing company affiliation. Login to E-Gov and select Affiliation Change to remove existing affiliations and change a license status. A licensee cannot perform activities requiring a Kansas real estate license while on inactive status. An inactive licensee must renew their license prior to their expiration date.
It is important licensees also update their email address. Renewal reminder emails are returned as undeliverable when the email address on file was associated with a company with whom the licensee is no longer affiliated. Login to E-Gov and select Name/Contact Info Change to update an email address.
As a reminder, the Kansas Real Estate Commission (KREC) and the Kansas Association of REALTORS® (KAR) are two separate entities. KREC and KAR do not share a database. A licensee who is also a REALTOR® should report contact information and status changes to both KREC and KAR.

All I Want for Christmas is… Completed CE
Amber Nutt | Director of Education and Communication
As we look ahead and begin to map out our calendars for 2022, I encourage licensees to plan for continuing education (CE) classes. Take the time to find topics that interest you and don’t wait until receipt of a license renewal reminder to register for courses. Over 600 approved classroom and distance education courses are available from multiple schools. Check the Directory of Approved CE Providers and Courses to find a delivery method best for you. Only those listed are approved to offer CE to Kansas real estate licensees for credit.
Education providers in Kansas must meet certain requirements to maintain approval from the Commission. Providers are responsible for submitting accurate CE completion data, reporting course schedules and changes, ensuring course content is current, and hiring competent instructors.
When registering for a course, provide the school with your accurate Kansas license number and name to help ensure CE credit is applied to your record. Verify license information here.
Have a comment or complaint about an approved course? Click here to provide KREC with feedback to assist in better meeting the education needs of real estate licensees.
