City Desk connections at Farmers Market
A great time was had at the Harvey County Farmers Market on Saturday, connecting with community members and sharing information about what's happening around town.
Several visitors told us they weren't aware of resources like the Choose Newton events calendar or the restaurant and shopping guides, and were excited to learn more about them. It was a great opportunity to help residents discover upcoming events and programs, and check out some of Newton's local establishments they were unaware of!
Thank you to everyone who stopped by the City Desk! We truly enjoy the chance to connect.

Fresh Air Connections: Block Party Edition
We've heard from residents that they want more opportunities to connect with neighbors and build stronger community ties. Fresh Air Connections: Block Party Edition helps make that happen by supporting neighborhood gatherings that bring people together through food, games, and conversation.
The City will help support up to two neighborhood block parties per month through November, with resources such as permit guidance, event promotion, and available setup materials. With prior approval, neighborhoods may also invite City staff, elected officials, Police, and Fire personnel to attend for informal community engagement.
Interested in hosting a block party in your neighborhood? Complete the interest form and a member of the Communications team will be in touch!
