City seeks volunteers for advisory boards
The City of Newton is accepting applications to serve on several volunteer advisory boards. These boards and commissions provide a platform for residents to voice their opinions and offer expert advice on various issues, from public safety to recreation to development.
Open positions are available on the following boards:

Public Building Commission – considers building and capital improvements decisions for outdoor recreation and athletics facilities.

Law Enforcement Advisory Panel – advises in policy development, education, community outreach, and communications related to bias-based policing.

Community Development Commission – advises about efforts to support existing retail and commercial businesses and to recruit new businesses to Newton.

Land Bank Board – responsible for acquiring and selling distressed properties to address problems and return properties to productive use.

Main Street Board – works to strengthen and revitalize Newton’s downtown district as an economic development tool.
