Wyatt Hendrickson
Congratulations to Newton High School graduate Wyatt Hendrickson, who last weekend won the 2025 NCAA heavyweight wrestling championship. He earned the title in an upset win over Gable Steveson, a two-time NCAA champion and Olympic medalist who hadn’t lost a college match since 2019.
Wyatt is a graduate of the U.S. Air Force Academy and was wrestling for Oklahoma State University to make up for his year lost to the COVID pandemic. His parents, Newtonians Todd and Lynnette Hendrickson, were on-hand to see his victory.
