Tree trimming to begin next week
The City’s contractor, Royer Brothers, will begin tree trimming in the public rights-of-way next week in maintenance area 1, which is east of South Pine Street between Southeast 14th and East First.
The work will take about 30 days to complete, weather permitting.
Although property owners are responsible for the street trees on their property, the City bids out tree trimming in one maintenance area per year to alleviate the burden for property owners. Street trees must be trimmed to keep limbs from scraping high-profile vehicles and to remove any hanging branches that could be dangerous.
