The first Connect Downtown will be held on Wednesday, January 8 on Prairy's Mezzanine from 8-10am. All business and property owners in our Downtown/Main Street (C3) District are invited to attend. This is a come and go event, but there will be a short program at 8:45am. This is an opportunity to:
- Get to know other businesses in our downtown district - learn from and support each other
- Learn about our Main Street Program and the resources this offers
- See and offer feedback on the newly developed Small Business Guide
- See the Main Street Annual Report
- Complete the Business Owner Survey
- Learn about the Main Street America visit and see the results of the community survey
- Offer feedback of what would be most helpful for upcoming training opportunities
- Discuss ways to collaborate for marketing, events, and more
We hope to see all of the Downtown Businesses represented. Please RSVP by emailing jlehman@newtonkansas.com so that we can plan accordingly.
Are you planning a community event in 2025? If so, make sure to apply for the Convention Visitors Bureau (CVB) Event Marketing Grant. This is a great opportunity to increase awareness about your event and offset some costs.
Any group, organization, or nonprofit conducting a program in Newton is welcome to apply. Events must promote out-of-county visitors and have more than a local impact. Funds that are awarded must be used to help promote, advertise, or market your event or activity.
Learn more about the grant and apply today at Choose-Newton.com. Please note that all applications for 2025 are due by January 20th at 5pm.

Whether your business is getting started, making changes, growing or expanding, the Kansas Business One Stop is your one-stop-shop for interacting with Kansas government. Here you can learn how to organize a business, locate information and resources needed to start or maintain a business, and more. To explore and use the one-stop, visit ksbiz.kansas.gov.

Latinos Unidos of Newton and Wichita State University’s Public Policy & Management Center invite you to participate in a community assessment.
This survey, going through December 31st is specifically designed to gather insights from our Hispanic/Latino community right here in Newton to improve essential services and resources that directly impact us all. Input will help Latinos Unidos address barriers and gaps in services in key areas, including education, healthcare, finances, government services, housing, and social service supports. This is a unique opportunity to have voices heard and make a lasting difference for our community.
What we are asking: We are asking for ALL community members to please share this community assessment survey with colleagues, family, and friends who are part of the Latino/Hispanic community, live in Newton or North Newton, and are over 18 years old. Our goal is to have at least 400 participants in this survey. The survey is available online in both English and Spanish for convenience. Participation is completely voluntary, and all responses will remain anonymous. We encourage you to share your experiences, opinions, and ideas—your feedback is crucial!
Incentive: As a thank you for completing our survey, participants may choose to provide their information and be entered into a raffle for a chance to win one of many gift cards.
Together, we can make a meaningful impact on our community. If you have any questions or need assistance with the survey, please don’t hesitate to reach out to Latinos Unidos. Thank you for being a part of this important initiative. Take the survey here.
