 Parks & Public Works
This week, our maintenance staff:
- Began preparations for Christmas decorations for Main Street, parks, and other locations, checking and replacing bulbs and making any needed repairs (above).
- Responded to several after-hours calls due to significant rain events.
- Stepped up street sweeping to clean up leaves from the street so they don’t clog storm sewers during rains.
 Fire/EMS
Several City departments spent time at Newton High School on Thursday for NHS Experiential Learning Day. Students got to experience different career options, visit schools, complete job shadows, and complete a budget simulation.
Newton Fire/EMS talked to students (above) about careers in the fire service and demonstrated some rescue operations.
