Newton Public Library
 The train has arrived at the new library and is ready for little readers! Opening day is set for April 1, with a ribbon-cutting at 10 a.m.

Water/Wastewater
 Water maintenance staff completed inspections of the 12th Street water tower this week. Staff pictured are Sam Ashcraft and Josh Chastain.
Staff at the Wastewater Treatment Plant cleaned out clogged diffusers in digester #3 this week. Kaden Ward helped lift the mood with a heart in the surface scum.
Newton Rec Commission
The new lights at Railer Field are up and working well. The Rec Commission funded the lights from their operating budget.
Parks & Street
 Street crews this week completed a new sidewalk at Centennial Dog Park from the main gate to the shelter area.
Sand Creek Station Golf Couse
Registration is open for volunteers to help work the 2024 U.S. Adaptive Open at Sand Creek Station Golf Course. The national championship for golfers with disabilities is scheduled for July 8-10.
Volunteer duties may include player registration, cart and scooter assistance, crowd control, ball spotting, refreshments, and shuttle transportation. You do not have to be a golfer to volunteer.
