Topeka man arrested for child sex crimes
SHAWNEE COUNTY – The Kansas Bureau of Investigation (KBI) arrested a Topeka man Tuesday afternoon for a child sex offense.
On Tuesday, Feb. 17, KBI agents with the Child Victims Unit arrested Charles K. VanCamp, 26, in Topeka. VanCamp was arrested for a charge of criminal sodomy, and two counts of sexual exploitation of a child. Formal charges are pending.
On Dec. 18, 2025, KBI agents executed a search warrant at VanCamp’s residence after receiving a cyber-tip that was submitted to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. Evidence was seized from the residence.
Following his arrest VanCamp was booked into the Shawnee County Department of Corrections. Additional charges against VanCamp are expected.
All subjects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
