BOURBON COUNTY –The Kansas Bureau of Investigation (KBI) and the Fort Scott Police Department arrested a Fort Scott man for child sex crimes.
On Wednesday, July 23, around 1 p.m., KBI agents and the Fort Scott Police Department arrested 24-year-old Micheal Olkowski, of Fort Scott. Olkowski was arrested for sexual exploitation of a child and aggravated internet trading in child pornography after a search warrant was conducted at 920 W. Park Ave., in Fort Scott.
The KBI Child Victims Unit began investigating after multiple cyber tips were received from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) in July.
Following the arrest, Olkowski was booked into the Bourbon County Jail. All subjects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
