Unemployment Insurance Benefits System Upgrade is LIVE! |
|
Today, the Kansas Department of Labor (KDOL) launched a new online system for Unemployment Insurance (UI) benefits at KansasUI.gov.
The new system will enhance your online customer service experience with a range of improved features. It’s designed to be mobile-friendly and is available in both Spanish and English. You’ll have greater flexibility online, including the ability to check your claim status and complete necessary actions through self-service options, eliminating the need to wait for a letter or make a phone call.
Required Actions for Current Claimants
If you are currently claiming UI benefits, you must take the following three actions to continue receiving your benefits.
-
Create a new account with a new username and password at KansasUI.gov.
-
File your weekly certification at KansasUI.gov. You can now file for the week of Nov. 10-16. If you did not already file a weekly certification for the week of Nov. 3-9 and you are seeking benefits for that week, you can still claim that week using KansasUI.gov until 11:59 p.m. on Nov. 23, 2024.
Note: If you do not file by the Nov. 23 deadline, your claim will become inactive, and you’ll need to submit a new application to re-open it. Be sure to complete your certification to avoid delays in your benefits.
3. Record three work searches.
Customer Service Tips
We expect high call volumes at the KDOL Unemployment Contact Center as claimants get used to the new system. We encourage you to use the self-service features at KansasUI.gov to check your claim status, view new documents, upload documents, or provide requested information. Checking online before you call the Help Line at (785) 575-1460 will save you time. Additional tips:
-
Review and continue to follow UI eligibility rules. This will help you avoid a delay or eligibility issue in receiving benefits.
-
Protect against fraud. If you get a suspicious piece of mail, phone call, or text message, or if see a questionable website link, please report it to our fraud page at dol.ks.gov/unemployment/report-fraud. Click on Report Fraud. Be sure to include as much information as you can, such as the website URL, phone number, or screenshots of a text message so we can investigate and stop fraud.
We are excited about the system’s modern features, and we look forward to serving you better with these improvements.
Sincerely,
The Kansas Department of Labor
