As communicated on December 3, 2025, we would like to provide an additional reminder that KDHE will resume charging $48 for the cost of comprehensive background check fees starting Jan. 1, 2026.
On August 21st, we issued a bulletin regarding the reinstatement of the Governors Emergency Education Relief funding that is currently covering background check fees. In the bulletin, we also advised that KDHE will continue to waive these fees through 2025.
