New 2025 Operator Exam Dates and Upcoming Training Opportunities
KDHE has added new exam dates to the 2025 calendar, along with a free EPA sponsored Drought Preparedness and Water Loss Workshop.
New Exam Dates for 2025
The following dates have been added for water and wastewater operator certification exams:
- January 31, 2025 – Hays
- March 27, 2025 – Wichita
- June 12, 2025 – McPherson
- July 25, 2025 – Lawrence
- August 28, 2025 – Topeka
We anticipate adding 3-4 more exam dates throughout the year. Stay tuned for further updates.
Important Reminder: Exam Application Deadlines
To ensure timely processing, all applications and supporting documents must be received no later than 14 days prior to the exam date. If submitting by mail, we recommend sending applications at least one week before the deadline to avoid delays. Alternatively, applications can be emailed to KDHE.OperatorCertification@kdhe.ks.gov, with payment made by calling 785-296-5511. This email and phone number are also available for any questions you may have.

EPA-Sponsored Drought Preparedness and Water Loss Workshop (Free)
Scheduled for Thursday, February 13, 2025, from 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM at the Kansas Municipal Utilities Training Facility in McPherson, this EPA-sponsored workshop will focus on drought preparedness and water loss management. Topics include:
- Early warning systems and drought resilience planning
- Water loss mitigation and revenue protection strategies
- Water audit techniques and leak detection
An optional session from 4:30 - 5:00 PM will be available for personalized guidance on water audit interpretation.
