KANET’s Latest: 11 Pounds of Cocaine Seized
KENT COUNTY, Mich: A months-long investigation by the Kent Area Narcotics Enforcement Team (KANET) led to two search warrants in the City of Wyoming in late August.
The investigation resulted in the seizure of:
• 11 pounds of cocaine (nearly 5 kilos)
• $53,000 in cash
• An AK-style rifle with a drum magazine
• An AR pistol
• Three handguns and ammunition
• A newer pickup truck
• A Rolex watch
Two individuals were arrested and have been charged with multiple felonies.
Cocaine continues to be a significant concern in Kent County. Drug trends change over time, and we are seeing cocaine become increasingly common. It is also not uncommon for cocaine to be found alongside fentanyl, creating an additional risk for the community.
We are proud of the impact our KANET detectives are making. Investigations like this take months of work behind the scenes. Large seizures don't just remove drugs and firearms from the community. Seizing cash and assets connected to drug trafficking disrupts the criminal networks operating in our area.
