KCSO Investigating Fatal Overnight Motorcycle Crash
PLAINFIELD TOWNSHIP, Mich: On August 21, 2026, around 1am, an off-duty police officer came upon a motorcycle crash on Pine Island Drive near Hayes Street.
The initial investigation indicates the rider was travelling southbound before leaving the roadway and striking a utility pole. At this time, it does not appear any other vehicles were involved. The rider, a 34-year-old Sparta man, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Kent County Sheriff’s Office Road Patrol Division continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
