KCSO Investigates Home Explosion in Comstock Park
PLAINFIELD TOWNSHIP, Mich: At approximately 4:00 a.m., dispatch received around 50 calls reporting an explosion and house fire in the 5700 block of Rollaway Drive in Comstock Park.
Deputies and fire personnel responded and found the home completely destroyed, with debris on fire. Two neighbors, an adult male and a teenage male, pulled an injured adult female from the home after the explosion. She was treated on scene and transported to the hospital in critical condition. We are very proud of them for stepping up and helping someone in need during an extremely dangerous situation.
Just before noon, a deceased person was also located at the scene and is believed to be the adult male registered to the address. Positive identification is still pending.
We want to thank all of the fire departments, EMS, and local, state, and federal partners who responded to the scene and assisted with this incident.
A further investigation by KCSO, Plainfield Township Fire Department, and other partners will take place to determine the cause of the fire and explosion.
