91-Year-Old Man Killed in Single-Vehicle Crash
TYRONE TOWNSHIP, Mich: On Sunday, May 3, 2026 at 12:40 p.m., the Kent County Sheriff's Office responded to a fatal single-vehicle crash at the intersection of Tyrone Avenue NW and 18 Mile Road NW.
Investigators determined that the driver, a 91-year-old Tyrone Township man, was traveling northbound when his vehicle left the roadway and struck a transmission tower. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Kent County Sheriff's Office is continuing to investigate the cause of the crash. At this time, reckless driving and alcohol are not suspected to be contributing factors.
