KCSO Investigating Fatal Vehicle-Pedestrian Crash
NELSON TOWNSHIP, Mich: On January 15, 2026, at approximately 6:30 p.m., deputies were dispatched to the area of 17 Mile Road NE, east of Ritchie Avenue NE, for a report of a vehicle striking a pedestrian. The victim, a 45-year-old female from Cedar Springs, was struck while walking along the roadway. Despite medical efforts, she was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The driver involved remained on scene and is cooperating with investigators. The crash remains under investigation by the Kent County Traffic Safety Unit.
