Sign Up to Attend the Female Veterans Appreciation Banquet!
  Don't miss our 6th Annual Female Veterans Appreciation Banquet on Thursday, March 19, from 6 - 8:30pm at Watermark Country Club. The event will be held during Women’s History Month to honor the service and sacrifice of female veterans.
This free event includes appetizers, a buffet dinner, desserts, raffle prizes, and personal stories shared by female veterans. Each registered Kent County guest may bring one additional attendee. FOX 17 Meteorologist and author Terri DeBoer will serve as this year’s emcee.
“We are honored to once again host this meaningful event to say thank you to the women who have served our country,” said Ryan Grams, Director of Kent County Veterans Services.
Space is limited and advance registration is required.
Registration is open until March 1, 2026, at noon, or until all seats are filled. Participants may also submit photos from their time in service to be displayed during the banquet.

Healthcare Enrollment and Resource Fair with the VA
Kent County Veterans Services is excited to take part in an upcoming Healthcare Enrollment and Resource Fair in partnership with U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. Our Accredited Veterans Services Officer Jeremy Binder has been asked to be on-site to help veterans and spouses with claims and any questions they may have.
Join us on Thursday, January 22, 2026 from 4 - 7pm at the American Legion Post #154 Wyoming, MI. Be sure to bring your DD-214 and previous year tax statement to get enrolled in VA Healthcare. You do not need to sign up in advance, just show up.

Dinner and Healthcare Sign up with the VA
Join our Accredited Veterans Services Officers from Kent County Veterans Services at the Corner Bar in Rockford on Thursday, February 5 from 4 - 7pm.
We will be helping veterans and their families with claims while the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Veterans Health Administration Team helps enroll veterans in VA Healthcare. This is a completely free event with a limit of 3 people per household but you must register ahead of time.

Education Seminar with Grand Rapids Community College
Join us for an Education Benefits Seminar designed to help veterans make the most of their VA education benefits. Learn directly from the experts at Grand Rapids Community College’s Veteran Services, get your questions answered, and take the next step toward your educational goals.
The seminar takes place Tuesday, February 10, from 2 - 3 pm at our Veterans Services offices at 836 Fuller Ave. Whether you’re just getting started or planning your next move, this is a great opportunity to get clear, trusted guidance - don’t miss it.

Reaching Veterans During Women's Expo
Warmer weather on the horizon means Kent County Veterans Services is planning to take part in different events to reach veterans and their spouses. Our staff will have a table at the West Michigan Women's Expo at DeVos Place March 6 - 8, 2026.
The goal is to be able to connect with veterans or spouses who may not be aware of the free services we offer to Kent County veterans. We hope to see you there!

Free Budget Class For Veterans & Spouses
We have partnered with Lake Michigan Credit Union to offer Free Budgeting Classes each month for any veteran and their spouse starting Friday, March 20, 2026 at 10am.
The classes will be held on the third Friday of every month at our office, 836 Fuller Avenue NE in Grand Rapids. We ask that you sign up ahead of time and be sure to bring a current bank statement and copies of your bills to each session.

Veterans Services to Attend Kentwood Senior Expo
Kent County Veterans Services will also have a table at the 27th Annual Spotlight on Seniors Expo in Kentwood on April 14, 2026 from 9am - 12:30pm.
KCVS will be one of 60 vendors in attendance. Those interested in attending can get free health screenings and enter for a chance to win a door prize. There will also be free refreshments.
