Alpine Township Fatal House Fire
ALPINE TOWNSHIP, Mich: Just after 1am on September 9, 2025, a passerby called 911 to report a house fire at 3505 4 Mile Road NW in Alpine Township. Deputies and fire personnel arrived to find the home fully engulfed in flames.
The homeowner and sole occupant, 91-year-old John Frueh Sr., died as a result of the fire. The KCSO Investigative Division began a death investigation. A preliminary autopsy found no suspicious signs, and the cause of death is related to the fire.
The cause and origin of the fire remains under investigation by the Plainfield Township Fire Investigator with assistance from the Michigan State Police.
