Death Investigation in Plainfield Township
PLAINFIELD TOWNSHIP, Mich: On August 20, 2025, just after 3:00 a.m., deputies responded to a business near Plainfield Avenue NE and Mark Street NE for two unresponsive males inside.
Deputies and medical personnel provided life-saving measures, including Narcan, to both individuals. A 30-year-old male from Muskegon regained consciousness and was transported to the hospital for treatment and is in stable condition. A 52-year-old male from Plainfield Township was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Drugs are believed to be a factor in this incident. Initial reports of a gas smell in the building were determined to be from gasoline and are not believed to be related.
This case remains under investigation by the Kent County Sheriff’s Office Investigative Division.
