KCSO Investigates Fatal Car Crash in Byron Township
BYRON TOWNSHIP, Mich: On July 29, 2025, at 9:24 a.m., deputies from the Kent County Sheriff’s Office responded to a two-vehicle crash on Byron Center Avenue SW, south of 76th Street SW.
The initial investigation found that a northbound SUV collided with another SUV that was turning out of the Whistlestop Park entrance. The driver of the turning vehicle, a 77-year-old female from Byron Township, was transported to a local hospital where she later died from her injuries. The driver of the northbound SUV sustained minor injuries.
The Kent County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Safety Unit responded to the scene, and the crash remains under investigation.
