Fatal Motorcycle Crash in Courtland Township
COURTLAND TOWNSHIP, Mich: On May 10, 2025, at approximately 2:00 p.m., deputies responded to a crash at the intersection of Northland Drive and 13 Mile Road in Courtland Township.
A 30-year-old man from Rockford was traveling southbound on Northland Drive on a motorcycle when he collided with a northbound sedan turning left, driven by a 32-year-old man from Sparta. The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. The passenger of the sedan was transported to an area hospital with minor injuries.
Preliminary information suggests that speed may have been a contributing factor. The crash remains under investigation by the Kent County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Safety Unit.
The Rockford Department of Public Safety and Algoma Fire Department also responded to assist at the scene.
