
Kent County Veterans Services to Participate in Memorial Day Parades in Grand Rapids and Walker
Grand Rapids, Mich. (May 19, 2025) - Kent County Veterans Services (KCVS) is honored to participate in two Memorial Day parades on Monday, May 26, 2025, commemorating the brave men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our nation.
The first event is the annual Grand Rapids Memorial Day Parade, hosted by the United Veterans Council of Kent County and sponsored by the City of Grand Rapids.
The parade will commence at 10:00 a.m. at the intersection of Lyon and Ottawa, proceeding through downtown and concluding at Veterans Memorial Park on Fulton Street. The ceremony will feature tributes to this year's Veteran of the Year, recognition of Gold Star Mothers, a keynote address, and the solemn playing of taps accompanied by a three-round volley.
"Memorial Day is a time for our community to come together and honor those who gave their lives in service to our country," said Ryan Grams, Director of Kent County Veterans Services. "Participating in these parades allows us to pay our respects and support the families of the fallen."

For the first time, KCVS will also join the City of Walker's Memorial Day Parade, starting at 12:00 p.m. from Walker City Hall, located at 4243 Remembrance Road NW.
The parade will travel along Remembrance Road and conclude at Walker Village Drive near the National Storage Lot.
