KCSO Investigating Fatal Crash in Alpine Township
ALPINE TOWNSHIP, Mich: On Tuesday, April 29, 2025, at 3:52 p.m., deputies from the Kent County Sheriff’s Office responded to a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of 6 Mile Road NW and Bristol Avenue NW in Alpine Township.
A preliminary investigation revealed that an SUV, driven by a 55-year-old Comstock Park man, was turning east onto 6 Mile Road NW from Bristol Avenue NW when it collided with an eastbound sedan. The collision caused the SUV to roll over and forced the sedan off the roadway into a field.
A 65-year-old woman from Coopersville, seated in the rear of the sedan, was airlifted from the scene by AeroMed to an area hospital, where she later died from her injuries.
The driver of the SUV was transported to the hospital with moderate injuries. Two additional occupants from the sedan were also taken to the hospital—one, an elderly woman, is in critical condition; the other sustained minor injuries.
The crash remains under investigation by the Kent County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Safety Unit.
We extend our deepest sympathies to the family and friends of the victim.
