$1M in Drugs Seized by KANET in Local Investigation
KENT COUNTY, Mich: The Kent Area Narcotics Enforcement Team (KANET), operated by the Kent County Sheriff’s Office with officers from Wyoming, Grandville, and Walker Police Departments, recovered five kilograms (11 pounds) of cocaine, approximately 760 grams (1.7 pounds) of fentanyl, and a loaded handgun during a recent search warrant on the southwest side of Grand Rapids. The seized drugs carry an estimated street value of more than $1 million dollars.
The suspect, a Grand Rapids man who has a lengthy history of drug delivery offenses, was taken into custody. This large seizure—achieved through local investigative efforts—is a strong example of the work being done by KANET detectives to target drug traffickers operating within our county.
“This was a result of our detectives working relentlessly to keep deadly drugs off the street,” said KCSO Detective Lieutenant Rob Porter. “KANET continues to make a significant impact through targeted local enforcement efforts each day - efforts that are directly saving lives.”
Fentanyl continues to be one of the deadliest drugs encountered in our community. If you suspect drug trafficking or related activity, contact law enforcement. Every tip matters in keeping our neighborhoods safe.
