KCSO Investigating Overnight Fatal Crash
ALGOMA TWP, Mich. – On March 29, 2025, at approximately 12:45 a.m., deputies were dispatched to a head-on crash involving a sedan and a motorhome near 10 Mile Road NE and the Belmont Bypass in Algoma Township. Upon arrival, both vehicles were fully engulfed in flames.
Bystanders acted quickly and were able to pull one of the drivers from a vehicle before it caught fire. The driver of the sedan, 25-year-old Karsen Soulia of Rockford, was pronounced deceased at the scene. The other vehicle involved was a motorhome driven by a 42-year-old Rockford man, who sustained minor injuries.
The Kent County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Safety Unit is continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
Rockford Department of Public Safety, Rockford Ambulance, and the Algoma Township Fire Department all responded to the scene.
