Information on the May 6 Special Election, August 5 Primary Election, and November 4 General Election are available here. Information for the May Election now includes the full proposal list and logic & accuracy testing dates. Information for the August and November elections will continue to be updated as the election dates get closer.
Every four years respective election coordinating committees must review, and if necessary, alter the election arrangements for each school district, intermediate school district, and community college in Michigan. Committees are made up of county clerks, local clerks, and school district representatives.
In January the Kent County Election Coordinating Committee met and approved election agreements for all school districts within the County. These agreements outline the duties and responsibilities of the County Clerk, local clerk, and school district office. These duties include submitting ballot language, processing candidate filings, election certification, and more. A copy of each agreement is submitted to the Secretary of State once it is finalized. Ballot Question Committees who are NOT participating in a 2025 election must complete an April Quarterly Statement. Close of books for this statement is April 20 and the statement is due by 5pm April 25.
Any committee participating in the May 6, 2025 Special Election must complete a Pre-Election Statement. Close of books for this statement is April 20 and the statement is due by 5pm April 25.
