Victim Identified in Byron Township Death Investigation
BYRON TOWNSHIP, Mich: The Kent County Sheriff’s Office has identified the individual found deceased on March 11, 2025, in a wooded area near the 6200 block of Kenowa Avenue SW as 37-year-old Eulices Delarosa of Comstock Park.
Authorities responded to the discovery around 1:42 p.m. on Tuesday. Investigators learned that the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department had been called to the same area on Sunday, March 9, 2025, regarding an abandoned vehicle in a driveway near 60th Street and Kenowa Avenue SW.
When deputies contacted the registered owner of the vehicle—Delarosa’s mother—she explained that her son regularly used it. She believed he might have run out of gas and gone to a friend’s house, but at that time, there were no active missing person reports, or suspicious circumstances reported to the Kent County Sheriff’s Office.
Concerned for Delarosa’s well-being as time passed, his family and friends formed a search party. They ultimately located him deep in the wooded area, about a quarter mile from the abandoned vehicle. Delarosa’s body and the car keys were found together.
A preliminary autopsy by the Kent County Medical Examiner did not determine a specific cause of death, pending further examination and toxicology results. Investigators believe alcohol and weather conditions may have been contributing factors.
The Kent County Sheriff’s Office extends its condolences to Delarosa’s family during this difficult time. Detectives continue to investigate all circumstances surrounding his death.
