ONE DEAD, ONE INJURED IN LOWELL
CITY OF LOWELL, Mich:
At approximately 3:55 a.m., a passing ambulance crew discovered a small SUV off the roadway near 800 W Main St SE. They stopped to check the vehicle and found it unoccupied, but observed signs indicating that an occupant may have been injured inside. A preliminary investigation determined that the vehicle was connected to a domestic disturbance at a nearby residence earlier in the night involving a 25-year-old woman and a 28-year-old man.
Lowell Police and the Kent County Sheriff’s Office responded to the residence. With some additional details and upon learning that occupants were inside, the Kent County Sheriff’s Office Tactical Team made entry, where they located a woman with injuries requiring medical attention. She was transported to a local hospital by ambulance. Additionally, a man was found deceased inside the home.
The Kent County Sheriff’s Office Detective Bureau is leading the investigation. At this time, there is no active threat to the community. Based on preliminary findings, this appears to be an isolated incident between the two individuals involved; however, the investigation remains ongoing.
