Pedestrian Struck in Byron Township
BYRON TOWNSHIP, Mich. - At approximately 9:50 AM this morning, a bystander stopped to assist the occupants of a grey Chevrolet Traverse involved in a crash in the 500 block of 100th Street SW. While outside his vehicle checking on the occupants, a white Honda Pilot driven by a 32-year-old female from Hastings lost control and struck the bystander who was standing at the Chevrolet Traverse.
Emergency responders arrived at the scene and found the bystander, a 46-year-old male from Middleville, alert but with serious injuries. He was transported to a local hospital for treatment. The Kent County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Safety Unit is actively investigating the incident.
We remind drivers to reduce their speeds, allow extra time for travel, and remain vigilant, especially during hazardous road conditions. Be mindful of your surroundings and take extra precautions to protect yourself and others. Remember, if one vehicle has slid off the road, it is likely that others could as well.
