KCSO Arrests Two Men In Connection with Bank Robbery
UPDATE: December 31, 2024, 4:21 PM: This afternoon, the Kent County Sheriff’s Office (KCSO) arrested a 25-year-old man and a 19-year-old man from Mecosta County in connection with the bank robbery that occurred on December 30, 2024.
These arrests were made possible through the collaborative efforts of the Newaygo County Sheriff’s Office's Emergency Response Team and the Mecosta County Sheriff’s Office. Both individuals are now in custody at the Kent County Correctional Facility, awaiting review by the Kent County Prosecutor’s Office.
Our primary focus remains the safety and well-being of the community, and we are committed to bringing justice to those affected by this incident and deeply appreciate the support of our law enforcement and community partners who assisted in this investigation.
As the investigation continues, KCSO will provide updates to keep the community informed. For now, no further information will be released to protect the integrity of the ongoing legal process.

SAND LAKE, Mich: The Kent County Sheriff's Office is actively investigating a bank robbery that occurred this afternoon, around 12:00 PM at the Independent Bank in Sand Lake. We do not have any reason to believe the community is at risk, but they will see an increased police presence in the area while we continue to investigate.
