Our Community and First Responders Come Together to Save Teen's Life
GAINES TOWNSHIP, Mich: A 16-year-old's life was saved last Friday following the quick actions of off-duty first responders and medical professionals. The teenager suddenly became unconscious during a tennis tournament at South Christian High School. An off-duty paramedic and OBGYN immediately began performing a combination of rescue breaths and CPR until KCSO deputies arrived.
Within minutes of being contacted, deputies performed CPR and deployed their AED. The AED delivered one shock and the teenager began breathing normally. The 16-year-old was transported to a local hospital for treatment and is doing well.
KCSO is grateful for the swift actions of the bystanders who called 9-1-1 and provided medical aid until first responders arrived.
