Dear Local Officials,
On behalf of Kent County Veterans Services, we are helping promote an important national initiative —Operation Green Light— and we need your support.
Operation Green Light is a campaign that encourages communities nationwide to show their support for veterans by illuminating buildings in green from November 4 to November 11, 2024. This initiative is a meaningful way to express our gratitude to veterans and their families for their service and sacrifice.
We hope you will join us and support this initiative in the following ways:
-
Light Your Facility Green: Please consider illuminating your facility with green lighting (green light bulbs, flood lights, etc.) during the designated week as a symbol of support for veterans.
-
Encourage Participation from Your Community: Post about Operation Green Light on your social media platforms, encouraging residents to light up their homes and local busines owners to do the same with their facilities.
-
Use the Hashtag #OperationGreenLight: We’d love to see your support on social media. Share photos of your green-lit facilities, and don’t forget to use the hashtag #OperationGreenLight to raise awareness and inspire others to join the campaign. Also, please consider tagging the Veterans Services Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/KentCountyVeteransServices/.
By participating, you’ll help remind veterans that their service is appreciated and valued by their community. We believe this initiative will have a powerful impact, and we hope to see widespread participation throughout Kent County, from police and fire departments to city, township and village halls, and other local government offices.
If you have any questions or need further information, please contact Rachel Wustman at rachel.m.wustman@kentcountymi.gov. Thank you in advance for your support in honoring our veterans.
Warm regards,
Kent County Administrators Office
