KCSO Arrests Couple Following Vehicle Pursuit
GAINES TOWNSHIP, Mich: Shortly after 4:00 PM on Saturday, a deputy initiated a traffic stop on a dark-colored sedan near South Division Avenue and Green Meadow Street. The deputy observed abnormal movements by the driver, who continued to drive for a short distance before finally coming to a stop. Additional deputies arrived to assist and placed spike strips under the rear passenger tire just before the vehicle sped off. A brief vehicle pursuit ensued, after which the driver fled on foot. Deputies apprehended the 23-year-old male driver shortly thereafter. The 20-year-old female passenger remained in the vehicle and was also taken into custody.
Upon searching the vehicle, deputies recovered a significant amount of marijuana, a scale, packaging materials, a large sum of cash, and a loaded Glock 10mm pistol. Our deputies encounter dangerous individuals daily, and we are thankful no one was hurt in this incident. We commend the deputy for thinking ahead and taking action to prevent the suspect from fleeing further and potentially endangering others.
