KCSO Investigates Early Morning Shooting in Gaines Township
GAINES TOWNSHIP, Mich: Just after 3:30 AM this morning, the Kent County Sheriff's Office (KCSO) responded to the area of 60th St and Kalamazoo Ave for reports of shots fired. Deputies did not find anyone injured; however, several shell casings were located outside a residence in the 6000 block of Campus Park Dr.
Our Detective Bureau is actively investigating this incident. While the reason for the shooting remains unclear, there is currently no indication that anyone else in the community is in danger. The KCSO is working closely with East Kentwood Public Schools' Security Team and our School Resource Officers to ensure an increased presence around the school campus this morning, providing reassurance and safety for students and staff.
