KCSO Investigates Fatal Crash in Spencer Township
SPENCER TOWNSHIP, Mich: Just after 8:00 AM this morning, KCSO responded to a two car accident, resulting in a fatality. Our preliminary investigation revealed a 19-year-old Greenville man was driving a red Hyundai Gensis eastbound on 19 Mile Rd, when he attempted to pass in a no-passing zone. The Hyundai crested a small hill at a high rate of speed, and collided with a westbound black BMW, being driven by a 39-year-old man from Battle Creek. The Greenville man was fatally wounded as a result of the accident. His passenger, a 18-year-old woman from Sumner, and the driver of the BMW sustained minor injuries.
Speed is considered a factor. This accident is being investigated by KCSO's Traffic and Safety Unit.
