Construction Site Thefts Continue in Kent County
KENT COUNTY, Mich: The Kent County Sheriff's Office saw another spike in overnight thefts from construction sites in Ada and Cascade Townships within the last week. Additionally, Gaines Township had one firework vendor broken into, and a generator was stolen overnight. In total, approximately $22,000.00 worth of generators, tools, and construction materials were stolen throughout our county during this time frame.
KCSO continues to see that housing developments and larger remodeling projects are targeted during the overnight hours. We encourage people living in the new developments to call KCSO if they see or hear anything suspicious. We also strongly encourage construction companies and firework vendors to have cameras installed where their equipment is being stored so law enforcement can quickly identify suspects in the event their property is stolen.
