KCSO Observes New Trend with Stolen Vehicles
KENT COUNTY, Mich: The Kent County Sheriff's Office wants to raise awareness about the frequency of stolen vehicles in our area. During the first two weeks of March, KCSO took ten reports regarding stolen cars. The impacted areas were Ada Township, Byron Township, Cascade Township, Gaines Township, Grand Rapids Township, and Plainfield Township. Of these ten reports, only one involved the attempted theft of a Kia. The remaining incidents show a different trend and involve various types of vehicles. In each case, the vehicles were parked in driveways, unlocked, and had keys inside the car.
KCSO will continue to work diligently to solve these cases because we understand their impact on our community. We need our community's help to be aware of how and where they store the keys to their cars.
