KCSO Investigates Fatal Crash in Algoma Township
ALGOMA TOWNSHIP, Mich: Around 5:00 PM today, the Kent County Sheriff's Office responded to a two vehicle crash which resulted in the death of a Gowen man. The investigation revealed a 21-year-old Gowen man drove a Ford Fusion eastbound on Indian Lakes Rd and ran the stop sign at Pine Island Dr NE.
The Fusion crashed into a southbound Chevrolet Silverado driven by a 69-year-old man from Belmont. The driver of the Chevrolet was taken to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the Ford was pronounced deceased at the scene after life-saving attempts were performed.
The Michigan State Police, Algoma Fire Department, Rockford Ambulance Service, and AeroMed assisted KCSO.
