Charges Against Mother in Solon Township Infant Death
SOLON TOWNSHIP, Mich: On August 25th, 2023 at 6:38 am, the Kent County Sheriff's Office responded to an unresponsive 2-month-old baby in Solon Township. The mother, a 39-year-old woman, was sleeping in the same bed as the baby when the baby was found unresponsive. The father, a 38-year-old man, was also home. Initial observations by first responders depict deplorable living conditions and the presence of alcohol, drugs, and drug paraphernalia. After an extensive investigation, the case was presented to the Kent County Prosecutors Office who authorized charges of involuntary manslaughter and child abuse against the mother. KCSO Investigators are working alongside Children's Protective Services throughout this tragic case.
The mother is expected to be arraigned in the 63rd District Court.
