Indiana and Illinois Men Arrested For Home Invasion
BYRON TOWNSHIP, Mich: On January 15, 2024, KCSO detectives learned that cash, jewelry, and crowbars were hidden in a 2018 white Chrysler Pacifica after it was rented. Through KCSO's investigation, a 46-year-old man from Portage, IN, and a 19-year-old man from Schaumburg, IL were arrested at a hotel in Byron Township. Both men were lodged at the Kent County Jail for home invasion first-degree from an incident in Cascade Township, and possession of burglary tools. Detectives believe there is a third subject outstanding, who they are actively looking for.
Through a search warrant, KCSO detectives recovered additional jewelry, cash, coins, walkie-talkies, and screwdrivers. Investigators believe these suspects may be tied to additional burglaries in Gaines Township, West Michigan, and possibly out of state. We are working with our law enforcement partners to put the pieces together.
If you have information that could help to move the investigation forward, please call the KCSO at 616-632-6125, or call Silent Observer at 616-774-2345 to report information safely and anonymously.
